This script disables the DES 56/56
1 2 3 4 cipher, also known as DES 56 2 or 56-bit DES 2.
This script only affects the SSL/TLS handshake process. The SSL/TLS handshake is a key part of establishing a secure connection over the internet. By disabling this weak algorithm, the script improves the security of the connection.
Authorities like Microsoft 1, NIST (FIPS) 2, CIS 3, Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) 4, OWASP 5, and NSA (National Security Agency) 6 consider this cipher weak and either discourage or disallow its use
This algorithm is enabled by default on Windows 2.
Disabling RC2 ciphers helps maintain data confidentiality and integrity by preventing the use of these weak encryption methods in network communications 3.
